Using computers for GED Test: Pencil and paper testing for high school equivalency diplomas will soon be replaced by computerized tests. The American Council on Education is starting the change for General Educational Development (GED) in California, Florida, Georgia and Texas in April. Plans are to have 11 states offering the computer testing by the end of the year. All states will make the switch from the traditional pen and paper testing to computerized testing by 2014, said Ann Chambers, director of adult education for Central Community College. I think that it is a great idea that the GED test is starting to be computerized. Hopefully this will help test takers get their scores back sooner.
